MJ Peterson Continues Steady Growth in Business

Company president attributes success to diverse offerings in local market

AMHERST, NY - As his company celebrates its 87th year in business in Western New York, Victor L. Peterson III, President of MJ Peterson, said that his business increased in 2016 and that diversification remains the strongest asset.

Peterson made his remarks during the State of the Company address at their 33rd Annual Awards
Ceremony held earlier this month at the Park Country Club in Williamsville.

He said his multi-generational family-owned and independent business is committed to serving the
Western New York area exclusively. Peterson added “We are local and live where we work. That sets us apart.”

Peterson remarked that his company’s brokerage division had 33 sales production award winners. In addition, the company continues to increase their rental portfolio with 32 new units at Deer Lakes Apartments, 16 proposed units at Stonington Park Apartments, and 6 new townhouse units in the Audubon Community; all these sites are located in Amherst near the University at Buffalo north campus.

MJ Peterson’s land development group received final approval for Harris Hill Commons, a 67-lot
subdivision in Clarence featuring abundant green space and large building lots. This patio home
community will have condo tax status and lots are available for purchase now.
Peterson attributes much of the success not only to the company’s diverse offerings, but also to a strong management team, steadfast family ownership, and an unprecedented spirit of teamwork across all areas of the business.

Several sales associates and employees were acknowledged for individual achievement at the ceremony: Susan Lenahan was recognized as top agent for the tenth consecutive year. Lenahan closed over $27 million in residential sales in 2016 - her career high in sales. She has been the top Buffalo city agent for more than 18 years.

The Olear Team, led by Michael Olear in Tonawanda, was awarded the 2016 top team with over $18 million in sales.

Ronald “Gunner” Tronolone was awarded the top commercial agent based on both units and volume in 2016.

West Seneca resident Edward Schubauer was named 2016 Employee of the Year. As the corporate IT technician, Schubauer is the main point of contact for tech support for both employees and tenants. When Peterson announced the award, he commented that since Schubauer has joined the team “We have never had a more user-friendly IT department.”

Peterson concluded his address by saying, “Let’s continue the momentum with the housing market, and have an even better 2017.” !

MJ Peterson, founded in 1930, is a family-owned and operated full service real estate company, with numerous rental units, more than 300 sales associates and employees, 6 residential offices, and 1 commercial office in the Buffalo-Niagara marketplace. More information is available at
