MJ Peterson expands its workforce in Western New York
Local company adds new jobs to the real estate marketplace.
AMHERST, NY – As MJ Peterson enters their 86th year in business, they have increased their staff to address the additional demands of their expanding operations. Several new hires and internal promotions were made recently.
Sharon Kane was promoted to the position of Corporate Maintenance Dispatcher. Having already proven her tremendous customer service skills as MJ Peterson’s corporate receptionist, it was only fitting that Kane fill this position as a liaison between the tenants of MJ Peterson’s rental properties and their maintenance staff.
Joyce Gearhart and Erin Staley were both promoted internally to the position of Property Manager. Each had previous experience as assistants to property managers within the company. Gearhart will be managing Berkley Manor, Englewood, Stonington Park, and Sundridge Apartments, as well as all of the duplex, condo, and single family home rentals. Staley will be managing one of the company’s affordable senior properties, Pepper Tree Heights Apartments.
After over 25 years with the company, Mary Kay Schiller was promoted to Director of Market Rate Housing. Schiller will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of MJ Peterson’s conventional residential portfolio - consisting of approximately 1,300 residential rental units.
An additional director-level position was added to the company this year. Shanelle McPherson was hired as MJ Peterson’s new Director of Affordable Housing. McPherson has previous regional manager experience and has worked in property management for the past 15 years. In her new role with MJ Peterson, McPherson will oversee and be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the company’s affordable housing portfolio - consisting of nearly 1,600 government-assisted residential rental units.
