LUXURY HOMEBUILDERS FORM JOINT PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP WNY LANDS

July 10, 2018 (Clarence, NY) – Forbes Capretto Homes and Essex Homes of WNY, two of the largest, privately-owned, custom homebuilders in Western New York, are partnering together to develop land and future neighborhood communities across the greater WNY region.

The first of their joint ventures will encompass 21 cul-de-sac lots that comprise the next phase of development within Spaulding Green, the largest community in the Northtowns of Erie County located in Clarence Center, NY.

“We look forward to combining our knowledge of the home building industry and putting our combined years of experience to work in the WNY marketplace, as we look for opportunities to expand and develop new land that will both benefit prospective homeowners and create new neighborhoods and communities across the Erie and Niagara regions. We chose Spaulding Green as our initial venture in response to customer demand and because it complements the
many desirable locations and features of the existing communities in which we build. Both our companies have been building upscale, custom homes in Clarence for many years, so, it was a natural extension of our expertise,” said David Capretto, president and owner of Forbes Capretto Homes and Philip J. Nanula, president and CEO of Essex Homes of WNY.

Located in the heart of Clarence, Spaulding Green is the largest community development in the Town of Clarence. This interconnected, multi-neighborhood community is comprised of single-family, patio and townhomes set against the backdrop of hundreds of acres of lush woodlands and designated preservation areas, community lakes, winding roads, and multiple nature trails. There are also a series of public sidewalks and bike paths intended to promote a sense of community among residents while enhancing the development’s aesthetic beauty.

Located east of Transit off Greiner Road, Spaulding Green’s prime location within the Clarence Central School District offers the convenience of major shopping, dining and entertainment outlets, in addition to the quieter “country” atmosphere of nearby Clarence Hollow just east of Main Street, complete with its farmer’s markets, small businesses and boutique-style shops.

As two, well-established homebuilders who share a stake in the WNY community, both Forbes Capretto Homes and Essex Homes have been responsible for increasing the tax base by millions of dollars within the towns and various communities in which they build luxury custom homes, in addition to creating hundreds of jobs throughout the area. Both companies have consistently ranked within the top five on the annual list of homebuilders published by Buffalo Business First and each has been recognized with numerous industry honors and awards, in addition to making significant contributions to multiple charitable organizations over the years. Both builders are also longtime members of the Buffalo Niagara Builders’ Association (BNBA).

Forbes Capretto Homes has been serving customers across WNY for over 30 years. Company president, David Capretto, began selling real estate at the age of 18. Five years later he purchased a partially-built home that was in foreclosure, convinced the bank to lend him the money to finish the home which he would later sell, and Capretto Homes was born. Capretto worked his way through the ranks learning and working across every aspect of the business,
eventually purchasing Forbes Homes to create one of the largest, privately-owned businesses in WNY.

Founded in 1992, Essex Homes of WNY celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017. The company has built over 1500 homes across WNY which includes communities in Clarence, East Aurora, Lancaster, Grand Island, Hamburg, Lakeview and Orchard Park. President, Philip J. Nanula, originally began his career in the food business at Tops Markets in the 1980s, which was co-founded by his father, Savino Nanula in 1960. His family, including brothers Steven,
Paul and Anthony, then founded Essex Homes of WNY. Nanula had the opportunity to put his business talents to work at Essex Homes, which now employs 18 associates and actively works with over 60 major suppliers and subcontractors throughout WNY.
